Overview

This annual survey is the definitive study of early careers employers and their recruitment and development activities. It provides up-to-date insights into the latest graduate market conditions and enables benchmarking of recruitment practices and program management.

The 2026 Employer Survey marks the 24th consecutive year of conducting this survey.

The 2026 Employer Survey consists of 153 responses from participating organisations.

The survey provides the latest information on:

  • Vacancy levels and application numbers for graduate roles commencing in 2026
  • Salary levels for new graduates starting work in 2026
  • Selection processes used by recruiters in 2025
  • Spend on marketing, selection and development activities in 2025
  • Graduate program management and retention
  • Industry challenges.

Released each year, this study was the first of its kind to be made commercially available. The Summary Report will allow you to benchmark your graduate recruitment strategies, process and results against those of other organisations. This will help you to make informed decisions about your campaigns, adjust strategies based on market trends and gain insights into your competitors. Members have access to a discounted price and members who participate receive a complimentary soft copy of the report.

Pricing

  • AAGE Participating Member: FREE (member participants are automatically sent a copy of the report)
  • AAGE Member: $330 + GST
  • AAGE Member (Not-For-Profit): $220 + GST
  • Participating Non-Member: $550 + GST
  • Standard Rate (Non-Member): $660 + GST

Each organisation ordering the report will be sent a soft copy (PDF) once payment has been received.


Why is it useful?

The survey allows employers to benchmark themselves against market best practice.

When does it happen?

Data collection for the Employer Survey takes place between September and November. Participation is free. A Summary Report is released in December. We invite every employer member to participate.
